About me...

Welcome to I've Lost Focus Photography! I'm Emily-May and this is a bit about me...
I received my first camera when I was barely a toddler for giving up my dummies. With its hot pink exterior and two whole megapixels, I absolutely adored it. Over the years my camera got an upgrade every now and again whilst I spent almost 10 years on the other side of the lens in the modelling industry. working with so many different photographers was brilliant and something that would help me a lot later on. I worked with some epic people on some equally epic sets including a particularly memorable shoot within a huge London studio transformed into a Narnia winter wonderland for the Harrods Christmas magazine. These creations definitely rubbed off on me as creativity and imagination are always at the forefront of my work.
Something you often hear in that industry is 'never work with children or animals.' Aged fifteen, I set up a photography business working with children and babies... and it's an absolute blast. I've Lost Focus Little ones is still going strong; catch us at a baby classes throughout the Midlands!
As a teenager, I developed a deep interest in documentary and travel work which was ultimately the route i decided to take after studying photography at college and going on to university where I chose to study Documentary and Editorial photography, one of very few specialised courses in the UK.
My work aims to capture seemingly mundane moments right under your nose and bring everyday simplicities to life. I believe every individual from here to the farthest corners of the world has a story worth telling; sometimes the smallest of tales mean the most.
